“Trimming” refers to horizontally cutting the turf to the correct height, as your lawn mower does. Trimming is done in areas where the mower cannot reach, such as the interior corner of a fence or areas where the mower could harm nearby plants. Mowing all the way to the fence is usually not possible due to the turning radius of most mowers. In that case, trimming is required in that area to cut all of the grass.
